First Day on the Job?
Here are 10 tips to help you prepare!
Welcome to the team! We're excited about your first day with us. Starting a new job can be a nerve-racking experience, especially when there are plenty of unknowns surrounding your position. That's why we put this list of tips together to help you prepare. We want you to start your first day with confidence, a spirit of excellence, and a readiness to succeed. Good luck!
SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE
Doing the best you can every day, working with a purpose and treating others with respect.
1. Check-in One Day in Advance
Connect with your Market Manager by phone the day before your first installation to ensure you have all the necessary information and to receive your Trainer’s contact information.
2. Get Gas
Fill up your tank! As an Installer, you'll be driving around town quite a bit. Make it a habit to gas up at the end of your day to save time in the morning.
3. Come Prepared
Be dressed in uniform and use the Penmarc tool-list as a guide for gathering your equipment the night before. Ensure your tools are clean, organized, and ready to go for the morning.
DOING THE RIGHT THING
Always upholding our commitments and embracing a culture of transparent accountability.
4. Eat Breakfast
Eat a healthy and hearty breakfast, and bring a snack for later! Installing is physical labor, which means you will burn through calories. Starting your day with a good breakfast will give your body and mind the energy they need.
5. Bring Your Phone
Don't forget your mobile phone! All job assignments are managed through a phone application called Cruxos, so your smartphone is just as important as your drill. We also suggest carrying an external phone charger just in case.
WE BEFORE ME
Great results are achieved by working together with collaboration and cooperation.
6. Be On Time
Be on time for your first assignment. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. This will give you a buffer if you hit unexpected delays.
7. Positive Attitude
We're excited to have you join the team and we hope you're excited too! Bring your A-Game.
INNOVATE TO ELEVATE
Embracing creative solutions to be leaders in our everchanging industry.
8. Ask Questions
Asking questions will help you better understand your role as an installer and help us better understand how to improve our training.
9. Be a Sponge
You'll receive a lot of information on day one and throughout the next several weeks. Stay focused, engaged, and soak up all the information your trainers provide.
GRACE THROUGH GENEROSITY
Positively impacting our employees and greater community through servant leadership and selfless giving.
10. Recap at End of the Day
Recap with your Market Manager at the end of the day to discuss your confidence level and any areas where you would like more in-depth guidance. We want you to succeed and we're here to help you do that!
